So why is it.......

that when I am exercising (which I can't do a lot of because of my knee that needs replacing) in the morning I get so many great ideas and thoughts when it is inconvenient to write them down? Why don't these ideas come to me at a more convenient time, say when I am sitting down with paper and pen in hand? I will have to start keeping a pad of paper and a pen in the room I exercise in but stopping to write things down sort of does away with the concept of aerobic exercise doesn't it?

Take this morning, I had a couple of brilliant ideas about Thanksgiving dinner and what and how to fix things to keep it traditional and also more healthy. By the time I got paper and pen I couldn't think of it. Is this old age or what? :) And it wasn't like I was gone for a long period of time.......say 30 seconds to walk to another room for something to write on and with.

Or maybe I need one of those things I have seen advertised on TV a while ago that you record where you park your car or what you need to get at the store and then play it back.

The older I get the more I really appreciate my mother and the way she was always writing things down....anywhere, on scraps of paper or on the back of envelopes from the day's mail. But now, we do so much email that there is less envelopes to write things down.

Love you, Mom...wish I could tell you how much!

So, I guess I need to keep my camera handy at all times so I can take pictures and post them. Keeping a blog is different than a journal :)

I know this was after the fact....but last Monday on November 2nd, Ryan and Stephanie came over and we carved pumpkins; better late than never. I guess we had been so busy we didn't have time to carve before Halloween, so we had a wonderful Family Night that consisted of a wonderful spaghetti dinner that Ryan and Stephanie made. Then we dug right in and got our pumpkins all done. Newell took ours and put it on our porch for all the world to see. This is it.

Ready, set..........

Blog......... or attempt to :)

My how have things changed. Growing up and in my early adult hood there were NO computers (except for the ones companies had and they were huge. I have learned by trial and error how to run a computer. When I took type in high school and college and we made a mistake we had to stop, erase, use whiteout or the white ribbon in the typewriter to correct. When we had several carbon copies it was a headache! It is much easier being able to spell check and print as many copies as we want.

This will be my first post to see how it works out.
